The Faculty is pleased to announce the following appointments, all of which are for an initial period of three years:

Dr Mark Groom has been appointed as Treasurer, to succeed Dr Simon Sheard with effect from the Annual General Meeting on 23 May 2012.  After a career in the Royal Navy, Mark joined Health Management Limited in 2008, where he is currently Medical Director (South West & Pensions).  He has been a dissertation assessor for several years, has recently signed up to be an examiner and was an appraiser in the recent revalidation pilot.  Our thanks are due to Simon, who has made a very valuable contribution to the Faculty over the last six years, as both Treasurer and a member of the Executive Committee.

During this time he has overseen major changes to the examination system in the development and running of the new Part 2 MFOM examination.
