Review of consistency across records standards

Dr Moira Kelly MFOM would like members’ views on some final points in relation to the Royal College of Physicians Clinical Documentation & Generic Record Standards (CDGRS) Project which is reviewing the headings used for admission, handover, discharge, outpatients, referrals and core headings. This project is being managed by Jibby Medina of the Health Informatics Unit, RCP. If you would like to find out more about the project, please go to – http://www.rcplondon.ac.uk/projects/developing-record-standards

Although record keeping standards in occupational health are being developed separately, it is important that occupational health practitioners are involved in the CDGRS project to ensure that hospital electronic health records provide the information that occupational health practitioners need in an understandable way. It is also important that the effect of work (or worklessness) on a patient’s health and wellbeing is considered by hospital based professionals.

The short online consultation questionnaire, seeks the views of patients and practising clinicians on 6 record headings.  You will find it at this link – https://www.rcpworkforce.com/se.ashx?s=253122AC0FDF9E533

This questionnaire should take no more than 10 minutes to complete and will close on 6 January 2013.
