The Faculty has experienced a significant increase in the number of CESR applications and is looking for new CESR evaluators (Certificate of Eligibility of Specialist Registration) to join the CESR Advisory Group.
Applications reviewed by the Faculty’s CESR evaluators are often from experienced practising occupational physicians, who have missed out on full formal training; the CESR process offers them the opportunity to become specialists.
The GMC relies on the expertise and recommendations of our CESR evaluators to approve occupational physicians for entry onto the Specialist Register. Evaluators will normally be asked to undertake a minimum of one evaluation a year.
Training will be provided for new evaluators, which the GMC participates in. CPD points are also available for training and every evaluation undertaken.
This is a good opportunity to work as part of a small mutually supportive team to help increase the pool of occupational medicine specialists and gain useful experience of evaluating evidence regarding specialist training.
