Members: your opportunity to help shape the future of the Faculty and occupational medicine
Nominations are being sought or four elected posts on the Faculty Board. The remit for each post is set out in the calling notices listed below, both of which have a link to the relevant nomination form.
You are invited to put your name forward for one of these posts. By way of background, Dr Peter Verow will complete his first three-year term at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) in May 2014 and is eligible for re-election. Drs Sue Hunt and Ian Torrance, who were co-opted to the Board to fill two casual vacancies, are both eligible to stand for election.
You are invited to put your name forward for this post as Dr Martin Tohill, the current incumbent, will complete two three-year terms at the AGM in May 2014 and is therefore unable to seek re-election.
Members of the Board report that being part of the Board is both interesting and enjoyable, and provides and opportunity to work with colleagues who have diverse roles, to learn about the range and complexity of issues facing occupational medicine, and a great opportunity to influence the future development of the specialty at the highest level. So do please think of putting your name orward and involving yourself in the running of your Faculty.
In addition to these Board vacancies applications are invited for TWO new roles which have been created within the Faculty for Deputies to the constituency elected Board members for Scotland and Wales. These Deputies will not be Board members but will support their respective constituency colleagues.
Deadline for receipt of nominations/applications for all vacancies: Friday 28 February 2014
