The Faculty of Occupational Medicine are looking for a new Representative for Scotland to join the FOM Council .
The Council is the FOM committee that represents occupational physicians and considers matters of interest and importance to the professionals working in the specialty. Members of the Council play a crucial role in ensuring the continued success of the Faculty. They inform the Board of all matters relevant to the specialty and of importance to the FOM. In this way, the Council ensures the Board of Trustees is able to make fully informed strategic decisions.
The Council meet four times a year at the FOM’s offices in Greenwich, London . During these meetings Council members make proposals to the Board of Trustees regarding strategic priorities, policy direction and allocation of funds to support ongoing programmes and business development needs. Whilst the Council is a hugely influential and a central FOM committee, they do not have responsibility for charity governance, organisational management or budgets.
The FOM Council kindly volunteer their valuable time to the Faculty and its members with the knowledge they are contributing not only to the FOM but the specialism as a whole. However expenses for travel can be reimbursed or arranged in line with FOM’s expenses policy .
If you are based in Scotland and wish to proudly represent over 300 of the FOM’s Scottish members please e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org to receive further instruction on how to formally express your interest.
The deadline for an initial expression of interest is Wednesday 31st May.
